Dr. Marissa Pellis is originally from Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Following the completion of her
undergraduate degree in Animal Science at The University of Findlay in 2022, she went on to
obtain her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary
Medicine in 2026. During her time at Auburn, Dr. Pellis played an instrumental role in
establishing a Veterinary Medical American Sign Language (ASL) elective — the first
veterinary-specific ASL course offered at any veterinary college in the country. Dr. Pellis is
deeply committed to connecting with Deaf and hearing-impaired clients in a way that makes
them and their pets feel adequately cared for. She is continually expanding her ASL proficiency
in hopes of being able to provide this service in the near future.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Dr. Pellis finds joy in spending time with family and
friends, exploring new places, listening to live music, participating in community outreach
events, and embracing any opportunity to be outdoors. She also cherishes spending quality time
with her two kitties, Oleo and Dory.
Dr. Pellis loves general practice and values the opportunity to form relationships with owners
and their beloved pets. Her professional interests include animal nutrition, soft tissue and oral
surgery, and urgent care. She is dedicated to serving as a trusted resource for pet owners
—whether it be guiding families through weight management plans or supporting them through
end-of-life care decisions —and everything in between. She is proud to call Franklin, TN
“home” and is honored to help you care for your furry companions!
