Animal Ark Animal Hospital is able to provide a variety of customized exotic pet care services here in Franklin, TN for rabbits, ferrets, and various rodents, as well as birds, reptiles and amphibians. Like dogs and cats, exotic pet species also have a wide range of healthcare needs, and require routine checkups with a qualified vet to ensure that they remain disease-free, pain-free, and happy. In addition to providing preventive care to protect your companion from disease, our respectful and responsive team can also administer treatment for common illnesses.
Below are the services we commonly provide for our exotic pet patients, and some of the conditions we can treat.
Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV) vaccine is available and recommended for ALL rabbits regardless of indoor or outdoor status.
RHDV is a very hearty virus that can survive long term in the environment, can be transported on hay, shoes, hands or any exposure to materials where a wild rabbit has been. The virus causes liver damage resulting in catastrophic bleeding and ultimately death. It is best to prevent this disease by vaccinating your pet rabbit.
